What man wouldn’t want beer pancakes for breakfast on Father’s Day?
Rephrase: what person wouldn’t want beer pancakes? For any meal? Any day?
Or, maybe you feel like having pancakes but are out of milk and buttermilk. Got beer? You got pancakes.
To be honest, I like my pancakes thick and fluffy, and these were flat. But, I LOVED the flavor-so malty! It’s good to know your options. Next time I want pancakes but don’t have the proper ingredients, I will definitely turn to this recipe. But I think another recipe is out there waiting for me–one that probably combines the use of milk and beer to make a glorious and fluffy pancake that also has the wonderful earthy, malty flavor. Regardless of which kind, I would stick to the dark side when it comes to choosing your beverage.
From All Recipes
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup beer
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
If you haven’t already, get that butter melting. Sift (or whisk) together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Beat the egg (use the measuring cup you used for the beer, or just beat it right into the beer). Add beer, egg, and butter to the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Commence the pancake making.
